Method of drafting Panels starting from waist line.
Refer the draft . Fig 4. Pin panel No 1 on a sheet of paper extend the line U-V on both directions to the points 5 and 6 by 3” or to taste, as shown in the above figure . Join the points 5 and 6 to the points I and I’ respectively which are the points of intersection of the panel lines to the waist line. Follow the same procedure to add flare to other side panels. For the middle panel line is extended on only one side.

Hi,
I'm also from bangalore and want to learn stiching in person. Please provide your contact details to malleeswari@gmail.com
Sorry Malleewari,I am not conducting any class.Sewing is my hobby.I do not want any commitment.Whenever I am free I write in my blog.
Ok. So can you advice me anyone or any institute for this? I'm seriously looking for one.
Hi, Sorry
I do not go out a lot. Nobody is learning near by.So I have no Idea.see this site It might be of some use to you http://bangalore.justdial.com/tailoring-classes_Bangalore.html
Hi malleeswari
I have collected these from Indian ladies forum.Check these. We will get plenty of information from that forum. http://indusladies.com/.
Nagpal and Singer ( opp. Nilgiris) sewing machine dealers in Jayanagar conduct tailoring classes.
Tailoring and Machine Embroidery classes are conducted by Singer Co., which is situated in Commercial Street
training center in Jayanagar called nagpal center in 3rd block, next to Archies greeting store and Nagarajuna.
classes are conducted in geetha sewing school...her name is kamala..she teaches from 12pm till 5pm
it is opposite kalamandir, jayanagar 4th block..adjacent to vijaya college building
There is one USHA ITI near RAGIGUDDA DEVASTHANA in J.P/Nagar 2nd phase where they conduct tailoring and embroidery classes.
And one more tailoring class is being undertaken by a trust which is also
close to Ragigudda temple. They charge very less for 3 months.
Thanks a lot for valuable info. As I'm very new here, I could not collect much useful information. Thank you once again for the help.
Dear Vani,
Thanka for the tutorials.I have a doubt.I am planning to make an anarkali top(umbrella skirt) with net cloth on top and thick cotton mix cloth as lining. How do i handle the lining part, should it be of same measurement as the net cloth or should it be of a normal chudi measurement as we do for skirt linings?
Thanks
Dhanya
A line skirt portion is enough for the lining.
Thanks Vani for the prompt reply.
I have another issue. I made a circle skirt anarkali with an old cotton saree. The problem is that the circle skirt part looks very uneven, like a wave. (The sides and middle part are shorter than the in between parts) The measurement was correct.
Thank you
Dhanya
Hang circular dress on a hanger for a day or two. Put on the dress. Ask somebody to mark hem line equidistant from the floor level.you will get uniform hemline
Dear Vani,
my dream fulfilled with your help.
finally i myself made a anarkali dress. Thanking you very much.
