When the width of the material is not enough to place the chudidar draft on bias the following method is followed.waist belt is separated from the garment.a patch is added where the material is insufficient before cutting the fabric.waist piece is cut on straight grain and remaning portion is cut on true bias.extra 1/2" is added for seams to attach the pieces.
Now cut the fabric and stitch as usual.

Mam, i am great admirer of the effort you put into this blog of yours. I have started to stitch only 5 years ago.. and i have learnt so much from your blog. Although , now i know this method of placing the paper cutting on folded cloth , i still remember how much i had racked my brains when i stitched my first churidar this way. I used to always used to stitch churidars making a bias bag. Please continue this excellent teaching of a forgotten art - sewing !

Hi there,
Thank you so much for all this wonderful information. I always had my clothes stitched by a tailor but recently I have become interested in stitching myself. I was wondering if you could teach us how to sew a "gharara". I'd be very grateful!
