I had a nasty shock today while browsing the web. I found some of the contents from my tutorial have been copied and posted word for word in another blog http://www.vanitha.tk/ under the heading"hand work" and the author was passing it off as her own. There is no possibility of her having copied the contents from any book as I had not copied it from any book. I have explained it in my own way. The images are my own. I am very much annoyed to see many of my tutorials that I had posted last year have appeared in her blog this year without any prior permission or acknowledgment.
The posts that she has copied are here

Another funny thing is she has not seen the spelling mistake that I had made and she has posted without correcting it! I will be very grateful If you write your comments in her blog. By doing so we can put an end to this.
Thanks
Hmmm Obsessively Stitching had the same issue last week. I wonder if it's the same person using both of your tutorials as her own.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you can contact Craft Gossip and have them call these people out that are stealing tutorials and pictures.

Hello Vani,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this..
this happens many times..I can understand your feelings as i am also experienced the same not once, twice but many times..it so sad this happens on net..I know how much pain you took to post those tutorials..
did you contact them.. ask them to remove your post..
our support is with you..
That is really bad and is very idecent on their part to do so.We have to find away to copy protect the content..I feel bad too.
ReplyDeleteOh thats so bad...
ReplyDeleteIt is so irritating to see our hardwork being copied this way without any credits..Pls protect your pictures by adding a watermark with ur blog link so that anyone visiting the copied site gets to know that the pics below to you
ReplyDeleteVani i am so sorry to hear this. Plagiarism is at its peak now. Left a comment on her blog to renove it as well.hAVE U WATERMARKED YOUR PICS?
ReplyDeleteVAni as you said i went to leave a comment and find my contents also copied there!! but not pictures may be because i watermarked them..how meannnnnnnnnnnn!!
ReplyDeleteOh shocking. Watermark your pictures.
ReplyDeleteso sorry to hear this..vani..btw how to watermark our pic..?
ReplyDeleteHi I follow ur blog quite regularly though have never commented previously..
ReplyDeleteIt must be very infuriating to see ur work copied around by unethical posters.
Best advice watermark ur pics and place a complaint against the blogger at her blogging site...
Also keep posting comments at her blog saying this is a copy of my work! Maybe she will stop copying then!
All the best
Oh my goodness, how awful!...and frustrating! I can't believe the nerve of some people!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry this has happened to you.

ReplyDeleteThank you all for your support.I will watermark my drawings from now on.Till now I was not doing thinking that it makes difficult to understand the draft.I was so angry I wrote comments under each topic even though I knew it can be removed. That is why I made it a point to express my feelings in my blog.
omg. too bad. i just wanted to comment on her blog but she seems to be like a virus. she would definitely peep on my blog and rob my pics. she deserves every bad thing in the world!
ReplyDeletehave also asked why she is posting the stuff you have written
ReplyDeleteI live your blog,I live in england and love wearing shalwar kameez and follow your writings
thanks
jane
too bad. i can imagine how you are feeling. When i checked those links now, all of them don't exist but for the paavade top link. i strongly condemn plagiarism
ReplyDeletepls watermark your pics, it need not be prominent, make it dull and it won't interfere with the draft
I remember in one of the Indian based forums i was sharing all my sewing creations and tutorials, wherein i was asked by admin to remove my watermarks or else risk being banned from using forum, imagine, adding watermark is to protect our creation and it defied logic to share my creations without them so i stopped sharing it in that forum. Hope people in those kind of forums now realize that there lot of copyright violations taking place and it is safe to allow people to add watermarks to protect their own hardwork.
Thank you very much for your support.I could not access the blog at all. She must have removed it.
ReplyDeletewebsite promotion, youtube to mp3
WOW! Vani,I just now saw Vanithas blog ..she has removed all posts.Good Good Good.I am so happy for you and Lakshmi.
ReplyDeleteHi Vani mam,
ReplyDeleteThese people dont understand other feelings.. its very bad to do such things..watermark can be done.. but being a learner i used to copy the pictures for my drafting.. like me many would have do that.. idoit work of one has became painful to others..
one thing we all can comment her in the blogger
@creativemama,
ReplyDeleteagree with you ..same happened with me one of my threads removed from the famous forum by adimin without any prior intimation..it really hurts when someone in the same forum in the name of'project' posted a bunch of tutorials and not even mentioning the name of the persons who took so much pain for making tutorials..
I remember somewhere I read if it is copied from one it is called plagiarism and if from many it is called research..LOL..

You have done such a wonderful job and to have your work stolen is just totally unfair. However, it is your work and no one can take that away from you. Please don't be deterred by one dishonest person. You have generously shared your work and we appreciate it.
